How It Started

It started the way most side projects start: with a problem that was too annoying to ignore and too niche for anyone else to solve. Frank had a serious card collection split across three different vault providers, each with its own interface, its own way of showing you what you own, and absolutely no way to see it all in one place.

The workflow was: log into PSA, screenshot your inventory. Log into Alt, screenshot that one too. Open a spreadsheet. Squint. Repeat next week. That's an absurd way to manage anything worth that much money. Two weeks later there was a prototype. Six months later there were dozens of database migrations and a growing sense that this thing might be useful to more than a handful of people.

ShowVault wasn't designed by a product committee or born in a pitch meeting. It came from a collector who knew exactly what was broken and couldn't resist fixing it.

What We Built

Syncing card data sounds simple until you actually try it. Vault providers don't offer APIs. Pages load unpredictably. Every provider works differently. Images are massive. Sessions expire mid-sync. It took thousands of lines of code and dozens of database migrations to make it all feel effortless.

Reliable Sync

Syncs pick up where they left off if anything interrupts them. Each vault provider is handled independently so changes to one never break the others. Uploads are paced conservatively — we're guests on these platforms and we act like it.

Your Data, Locked Down

Security is enforced at the database level, not just the application level. Users can only access their own data — full stop. Cards are deduplicated across vaults automatically so your collection stays clean no matter how many times you sync.

Share Your Collection

Public storefronts let you share your collection with a link. Browse thousands of cards without the page slowing down. Billing is handled by Stripe so we never touch payment credentials.

Built to Last

ShowVault never runs in the background. There's no automated scraping, no credential storage, no background syncing. You click the button, you watch it run, you can stop it any time. We monitor for upstream changes continuously so breakages get caught fast.

You push the button, not us. Every sync is manually initiated, fully visible, and stoppable at any time. There's a kill switch because you should always have a kill switch.

Privacy-first

No Google Analytics. No PII in logs. Your data is isolated at the database level, not just the application level. We chose the harder engineering path because your collection data isn't ours to be careless with.

Vault-agnostic

ShowVault works across PSA, Alt, and Fanatics. It's not owned by a grading company, not tied to a single marketplace, and not incentivized to steer you toward any particular platform. Your collection, your choice.

Built by collectors

Not by a corporation that acquired a startup. ShowVault exists because a collector had the problem and decided collectors deserve better tools than what grading companies provide as an afterthought.

Frank brings the collector's perspective — he knows what information matters, what workflows are broken, and what features would actually make a difference. Every product decision runs through the filter of someone who genuinely uses this thing to manage his own collection.
